Astan 21, 2005 – Interview with Celestia Le Ciel/Merveille Magique
After we first wrote about the “doubleband” Celestia Le Ciel/Merveille Magique in Astan, some things have happened. Lleu and Laciel have gotten a lot of appreciation from German and French fans and have in the mean time made a video and new music. In December they will come on a Europe tour and will have a concert at the Astan Christmasfestival on December 17th, 2005 in Münster.
Through the Astan Magazine you have gotten a larger audience. How does that feel?
Lleu: In Japan is that still different. I think when we come to Germany I will have a good time.
Laciel: I see it the same.
You got a lot of positive reactions about Celestia Le Ciel/Merveille Magique. Do you encourage that?
Lleu: Yes, of course. There were a lot of people that liked my voice. That’s very encouraging.
Laciel: I’m really happy about it.
You’re coming to Germany this year.
Lleu: When I still was a metalmusician I’ve thought about playing in foreign countries. I’m very happy that this dream is coming true.
Laciel: Because we have dreamt about it for a long time, we’re very happy about it.
Celestia Le Ciel/Merveille Magique.
Tell something about these names.
Laciel: Those are the names of the mysterious world that is inside me and means a lot to me.
Something has had an influence on you, like classical Japanese fairy tales?
Laciel: No, I close my eyes and then this world is there. A very beautiful world.
What message do you try to get across with your lyrics?
Laciel: I want to express that nobody should forget to dream and hope.
What is your live show like?
Lleu: That’s still our secret. But for Germany we’re planning something special. Special clothing and a special performance.
As a visual band your music is supported by your clothing and make-up. Does it help you express?
Lleu: Definitely. Through our looks we can express and communicate much better.
Laciel: I want to feel the outstanding things of our world. Make-up and clothing helps.
You lable yourself as a metal band. When you hear the piece on our last Astan cd, it doesn’t sound a lot like a metal band.
Laciel: We are neither a metal band or V-Kei band. We are different. I would lable us as “Fantastic Platinum Symphony-Band”. I can’t say that this English description really fits and I don’t think a lot of readers know Japanese. You can lable us as White-Kei-V-Band.
Lleu: That really fits, because we are the only band that lables themselves as White-Kei-V-Band.
Do you listen to German music or to music that is made by Germans?
Laciel: The roots of my music are in Germany. I like Bach a lot and also some older German metal bands.
Lleu: Same for me.
Some last words for the readers of Astan?
Lleu: A lot of people have left messages on our HP. That made us very happy and we feel very encouraged.
Laciel: We wish this encouragement will continue and that we can meet the readers of Astan in December on the concert.
