004 : Japan day in Leiden

Today was the Japan day in Leiden, as a celebration of 400 years trade relations between the Netherlands and Japan.

In the afternoon, together with a Buddhist monk from near Hiroshima and a monk from Leiden, Japanese opera singer Aika performed a houyou (Buddhist memorial service) in honour of Von Siebold.
